Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all that life really means.
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894)

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.
'Why?' my daughter asked.
'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs' I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Mama, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.'
I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mama Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mama.'
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad.
'Exactly' I replied back with a big smile on my face.

If Life is funny then Relationships are hilarious. Promises made only to be broken. Lies told, secrets stashed away. Private conversations made public. Sex, Lies, and Video (or pictures at least). I’ll never understand humans. Perhaps if someone in this world could explain them to me I wouldn’t be so misanthropic. I don’t understand always needing. Needing more, wanting more, never satisfied with what you have. Always having to look for someone better, more suited, more like you, more like your mother, more like your best friend….more like anyone other than being happy and loving the person for who they are. Change. Change them into your idea of the perfect mate. Your own little Eve (or Adam).
Believe me I understand wanting more, needing more. More money, more things, More satisfaction in your job, more knowledge. I don’t believe that one should sit content with what life has offered. Up The Ante. Demand more for your life, more of yourself.
That has nothing to do with the constant searching for the perfect companion. Believe me you will never find it. You will never change that person into your idea of a perfect companion. Be loving, loyal, and honest with your partner and you will probably find that they are the perfect companion.
Enough on Life.
"The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.
"No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this,"
Yes.
I’ve been inundated with information about Science and Religion. One of the books I’m reading at the present time is Angels and Demons. Illuminate and such. But I’m with Albert here. Honorable but Childish. And people take it all at face value. Sigh….
Thanks for the fish, Doug
Peace
